Dr. Edward Jennings
Chairman of the Board and Independent Director
Dr. Edward Jennings comes to Clean Coal Technologies with vast and varied expertise. He is a mechanical engineer by profession, but he carries an MBA and a PhD in Finance from the University of Michigan. He has claim to extensive experience on various trade missions in the Far East, Europe, and Africa for several corporations and governmental agencies. He is also the former president of two Universities: the University of Wyoming and Ohio State University. His writing has been widely published in academic journals.
Dr. Scott Younger, OBE
Dr. Scott Younger OBE is an infrastructure development and sustainable development expert, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. As an infrastructure development consultant, adviser and academic with 35 years’ experience in South and South East Asia, Dr. Younger’s expertise covers highways, water and port and mining. Since 1978, he has been involved in infrastructure projects across ten countries in Asia, many in conjunction with the world’s leading lending agencies. He has served on a number of international and regional bodies associated with infrastructure delivery and is a regular contributor to conferences as well as academic and non-academic publication including Forbes Asia and Globe Asia magazine. Dr. Younger takes an active interest in regional economic and political development, triggered by participation in UK politics in the early 1970s. He was Chairman of Strategic Intelligence from 1998-2001, and for the past decade he has been co-Chair of the Indonesian branch of D Group, an influential London-based business networking company. Since 1995 he has been actively involved with the British and, from 2005, European Chambers of Commerce in Indonesia. He is currently senior Vice Chairman of the International Business Chamber, which he joined in 2003. All these organs connect into government. In 1997, he served as secretary of the ASEAN-EU Business Dialogue for that year.
Dr. Younger is also a passionate advocate of Sustainable Development. Since 1999 he has been Commissioner/Adviser of the East Bali Poverty Project, a successful Bali-based sustainable development project which has transformed the lives of 17,000 people from abject poverty to a thriving community. Dr. Younger serves as Independent Commissioner of PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk, a publicly listed company invested in Indonesian toll roads and port, and as President Commissioner of Glendale Partners, a consultancy specializing in project development and advisory services. Qualifications and offices of Dr. Younger include a PhD from the University of Hong Kong, a MS from UC Berkeley, California, a BSc (Hons) from Glasgow University, Scotland. Also, he is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London and an Honorary Research Fellow from Glasgow University. Dr. Younger was appointed a member of the Order of the British Empire in 2003.
Mr. Al Knapp
Al Knapp brings over 30 years of professional expertise to Clean Coal Technologies, having worked in various roles within the heavy industrial/engineering construction business. For 25 years, Mr. Knapp held senior and executive positions in business development, general management, and project management for The Industrial Company (TIC). TIC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation and one of North America’s largest general industrial construction companies; servicing a wide range of markets including power, oil and gas facilities, and renewable energy. He later served as Project Manager for the former Pittsburg and Midway Coal Mining Company (P&M), now Chevron Mining Inc., focusing on project design and construction management in coal-centric states including Kentucky and New Mexico.
